BGS recommended Undergraduate Curriculum for UK Medical Students and Medical Schools
This is the British Geriatrics Society recommended undergraduate curriculum for UK medical students and medical schools. This curriculum was first devised in 2008, and updated in 2013 and 2023. The most recent update was undertaken using a cross-matched mapping and nominal group technique to achieve specialist, multidisciplinary consensus. These recommendations have been mapped to General Medical Council requirements for UK graduates, and reflect the standard expected of a Foundation Year 1 Doctor in their first day on the job. The curriculum is divided into 7 core areas, each with 1-2 over-arching learning outcomes, which are expanded and clarified in several sub-learning outcomes.
