COVID-19 in the older adult
This poster was created by Dr Lara Mitchell, Consultant Geriatrician at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), Glasgow. It covers atypical presentation of COVID-19 in older people as well as some useful considerations and advice for specialists and non-specialists alike.
Care home falls poster
This poster contains advice for care homes about what to do in the event of a fall during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was developed by the National Falls Prevention Coordination Group (NFPCG) and supported by the BGS.
Ward round checklist
This COVID-19 ward round checklist was developed by Dr Amit Arora. It offers generic guidance for an emerging situation and clinicians must continue to use clinical judgement in responding to various situations and settings. Talking to relatives
This handy visual guide to breaking bad news and having difficult conversations with relatives via telephone during the COVID-19 outbreak was developed by Dr Antonia Field-Smith and Dr Louise Robinson from the Palliative Care Team at West Middlesex Hospital, NHS Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust.
Administration of anticipatory medicines
These guidelines for the administration of anticipatory medicines by informal carers have been developed in Worcestershire and Derbyshire respectively.
