Led study delivering landmark data on frailty and COVID outcomes

"During the pandemic Jonathan set up and led the Cope Study. This unfunded study has produced twelve high-impact papers to date, and ongoing follow-up and collaboration is continuing. The key contribution was the index paper on frailty in COVID. This clearly showed the link between worsening frailty and poorer outcomes in COVID-19. The work of the team has delivered land mark data on the care and outcomes of the older person in the era of COVID. It has led to improved care and clinical decision making for the older person with COVID-19."
