Dr Su Dr Thiri Aye

I am an ST5 Registrar in East of England deanery and currently working at Colchester Hospital.

I joined the BGS trainees council as the England Council Co-representative in the late 2023, sharing the job role with my colleague, Dhruti.

The reason why I joined the trainees council was because I would like to support geriatric trainees by linking with other regional trainee representatives in different England deaneries to improve the wider scope of geriatric medicine across the nation and becoming an advocate for them. With this same passion, I am also working as a regional geriatric medicine trainee representative for East of England to support fellow geriatric trainees in my region.

BGS allows doctors of different grades, allied health care professionals within geriatric medicine and even medical students to make connections to improve the geriatric training itself as well as the quality of elderly care. Through this role, I, therefore, wish to work collaboratively with the BGS team who share the same interest with me in supporting the geriatric medicine training as well as shaping the future decision-making of geriatric medicine.
