Dr Lisa Newton

Lisa is a part-time GP working in Newcastle. She has a special interest in improving the independence of older adults. During her GP training she was an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and use this time to complete a Master in Clinical Research exploring GPs knowledge and attitudes towards the use of assistive technology in dementia care. This interest has grown and she is currently doing a PhD funded by the Alzheimer’s Society exploring this further in the memory service setting. Her hope is to identify current practice of memory service professionals with regards to information provision and support to access assistive technology. She is passionate about research and improving the lives of older adults.
